Just Mercy is a book of the fight for justice. Bryan Stevenson is not only the author but also the main character of this book about a lawyer trying to free a death row prisoner: Walter McMillan. Walter was sentenced for murdering an 18-year old girl. Racism plays a key role in this story and Bryan is fighting for those who were wrongly condemned. Along the way we meet other prisoners who were arrested at a young age. Will Walter McMillan get off death row? The answer will be revealed as you read the book.
I recommend this book to everyone because the fight for justice is something we should all value.

The protagonist Craig is a New York teenager who suffers through depression after entering an elite school. After contemplating and confessing his suicidal thoughts to the suicidal hotline, he attends an adult psychiatric hospital in Brooklyn. He encounters a variety of different patients he later becomes friends with including Noelle. Through the week in the hospital he enjoys the activities and he also tries to resolve his problems he has with his friends at school.
This book deals with realistic mental issues in a perspective of a teenager; therefore, it is significant to understand the struggles of the individual. It also some humorous and joyful moments in the book where it's entertaining to read.
One quote that stood out to me is: “People are screwed up in this world. I'd rather be with someone screwed up and open about it than somebody perfect and ready to explode.”
