MaCES Robotics is a High School Robotics Club at Maywood Center for Enriched Studies. We are a combined middle and high school which allows us to give opportunities to a wider range of students as well as a bigger variety of programs.
Our middle schoolers get the opportunity to participate in the Vex IQ Challenge competition which is a game-based engineering competition for students where teams design, build, and program robots to compete in matches. With over 7 teams we work year round to develop our skills and prepare for these competitions. LAUSD hosts these Vex IQ competitions at MaCES which are also student run by our high school students which is one of the great opportunities our club has.
Our high school students get the opportunity to participate in First Tech Challenge which is a robotics competition where teams design, build, and program robots to compete in an annual game similar to the Vex IQ Competition. FTC goes beyond just building robots and grants awards to teams who can show exceptional demonstration of their community building and impact in the STEM community.
