June 24-June 25: [STEAM Summer Camp Opening/Welcome]
During these first two days, students will get to know each other, develop animation skills, and learn the basics of Schoology and Zoom.
June 29-July 2: [Aquarium of the Pacific]
During this week, students will explore sharks and discover what makes them so amazing. Through a variety of activities, and in partnership with the Aquarium of the Pacific, students will become shark experts and help dispel misconceptions about these fascinating animals.
July 6-July 9: [Tree People]
During this week, students will know about the work and mission of Tree People in the city of Los Angeles and learn about the structures and functions of trees and their importance in our world.
July 13-July 16: [Columbia Memorial Space Center]
During this week, students will engage and explore rockets and how they are used to leave Earth and go into space. Students will also understand that gravity is a force of attraction between two objects on Earth.
July 20-July 22: [Summer School Reflection and Closing]
During this week, students will learn how to be good digital citizens and celebrate their accomplishments and adventures. Students will share their projects, favorite memories, make a class scrapbook, and show their appreciation to the Summer STEAM Camp community partners by writing a class thank you message.
