1. Players are expected to learn and practice the rules of golf and honorably record and attest to scores in practices, matches, and tournaments.
2. Give your best effort each and every day and on each and every shot. Remember that the next shot you take is the most important one. Unfortunately you cannot replay the previous shot, but you can try to make up for it with the next one.
3. Unexcused absences from practice are not permitted. If you have to miss practice either you or your parent/guardian must contact me before practice begins. Do not send your friend to tell me you will not be in attendance. It is your responsibility!
DRESS CODE:
1. Proper attire is required at every practice and tournament.
2. Jeans or jean shorts may not be worn for any practice or tournaments.
3. Sneakers or golf shoes only must be worn to every practice and tournament.
4. Collared shirts are required. A K/D Golf polo will be provided to team members.
5. Hats are permitted if they are in good condition, school colors, and worn properly.
6. You will not be allowed to participate in practice or tournaments without the appropriate attire. If you miss practice because you do not have proper attire on it will be counted as an unexcused absence.
Girls:
Acceptable golf attire shall be clean, well-fitted and hemmed pants, shorts or skorts with appropriately sleeved collared shirt. Pants, shorts and skorts shall be of appropriate length and adhere to KDMHS dress code.
Boys:
Acceptable golf attire shall be clean, well-fitted and hemmed pants or shorts with appropriately sleeved collared shirt. Pants and shorts shall be of appropriate length and adhere to the KDMHS dress code.
CELL PHONES & PERSONAL LISTENING DEVICES:
1. Cell phone and personal listening devices are not permitted during tournament play. If caught using one of these items, you will be disqualified per CIF/USGA Rules of Golf.
2. Personal listening devices are NOT permitted during practice at any time.
3. During practice ONLY, you may have your cell phone with you in your golf bag. While playing or practicing I may need to contact you (via GroupMe). Check your phone occasionally as sometimes this may happen. You may also need to contact me.
TEAM SELECTION:
Selection of which golfers participate in each tournament will be determined by head to head qualifying, tournament results and daily attendance to practice. A number of factors are used in ranking players on our team. These include but are not limited to attitude, leadership, reliability, trustworthiness, and past performance and statistics at both tournaments and practice.
DISCIPLINE:
Violation of these team rules will result in suspensions and/or dismissal from the King/Drew Magnet High School Golf Team. School infractions, classroom misbehaviors, etc. will be dealt with accordingly using the following consequences:
1st Offense: 1 tournament suspension
2nd Offense: 1 week suspension
3rd Offense: Removal from team
