Hi.

About Me:

It's my pleasure to serve and support you in your instructional goals! I have been a teacher with Los Angeles Unified School District for over thirteen years and counting. In that time, I have taught everything from elementary general music to ELA intervention, from beginning theatre arts to student body and leadership. Recently, my work has been in service to teachers and students as an Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) for the Instructional Technology Initiative. And currently, I serve as the Teacher Librarian at David Starr Jordan Senior High School in Watts, CA. (Go Bulldogs!) I'm looking forward to being a resource for students and teachers as an instructional support and a librarian!

Through my work in the arts, student leadership, as a teacher-leader, and an instructional coach, I have spent my career supporting administrators, teachers, students, parents and the community with the integration of sound instruction throughout all areas of learning and growth. I have worked with all ages, both in the classroom and out of it, to ensure that my learners- students and adults alike- receive the best possible instruction I can provide.

My work as an instructional technology coach focused on the integration of digital tools and the utilization of various learning strategies to amplify teaching and learning for learners of all ages. I thoroughly enjoy designing curriculum and lessons centered around unleashing the creativity within learners, both traditional students in the classroom, and teacher-learners who desire to take risks and view learning as an adventure.

I also serve as a Visiting Committee Member for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accrediting Commission. Through my work with WASC, I have learned so much about how to support and improve teaching and learning for all students. It is truly one of the joys of each of my school years to be able to serve on a visiting committee to learn from colleagues around the state!

Outside of the classroom, I love to cook, swim, run, take photos, go to the movies, and love on my dog (Oliver) and my cat (Lily). I am an Honorary Disneyland citizen, and you can find me inside the resort at least one or two evenings a week! Feel free to ask me about my Disney adventures any time! Or, if you're planning a trip and need advice, I'm happy to share my experiences with you!

Take a look at these photos from my most recent trip to Batuu! I visited Black Spire Outpost, which is a spaceport located on Batuu, in the Outer Rim Territories, and is one of the last stops before Wild Space and the Unknown Regions. It used to serve as a busy crossroads for those traveling before hyperspeed existed, but now is mostly a hub for smugglers, scoundrels and, most recently, the First Order.*
"At the edge of the galaxy so far away, black was the spire that called me to stay, a beacon for drifters forgotten and lost, the spire summoned those broken and tossed, come stay here forever or just pass on through, the spirit of the black spire will forever change you." ~Original in Aurebesh, translation by Nick Tierce
TIL THE SPIRE!
