Message from the Principal
As Principal of Gardena Early Education Center, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone to our school Gardena EEC. Home of the PANTHER CUBS! We are excited to have students who are full of energy and ready to learn. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our Gardena EEC family. We strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities, implement strategies specific to the students needs and to prepare our students to be “Ready for the World”.
At Gardena EEC we have great teachers who spend time planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning. Our teachers utilize the Creative Curriculum to guide instruction, analyze academic data to determine developmental levels and set goals for growth, development, and improvement.
We hope that you will find our website helpful and informative. Our Monthly Newsletter are given to parents and uploaded to our website’s “News” tab. The Newsletter gives parents current information as it pertains to students and families, important dates and upcoming events. Additionally, we have an Instagram (gardena_eec) used to give highlights through the school year.

Resources
Our Curriculum
Nature Explore- based educational program that incorporates nature as an integral, joyful part of children’s daily learning. Research shows regular time in nature:
1. Facilitates better social and physical development ( some kids who are very high energy tend to be calmer and more focused when they are in Nature Explore outdoor Classroom)
2. Improves fitness, motor-skills, and well-being (kids have the opportunity to climb and explore)
3. Supports creativity and imaginative play (run around, and twirl on the grass area and pretend to be a butterfly, bird, ladybug…)
4. Inspires collaboration and reduces violence and bullying (research have shown that Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom have decreased by 30% behavior problems at school )
5. Reduces stress ( When kids do not get along indoors and the teacher take them outside to Nature Explore classroom they become more cooperative with one another, more nurturing, as they take care of the plants that they have planted)
6. Creates feeling of empathy for nature (connect with nature)
7. Supports whole child development and across the curriculum (Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Science, Language and Literacy, Math, Visual Spatial Learning and Construction and Engineering Skills)
