Materials: BRING THESE EVERY DAY! Pencils and a pen, Wirebound Notebook (College Ruled, 100-120 pages), 1 plastic pocket folder , graph paper, scientific calculator, ruler, eraser, highlighters, white board markers, sock (for eraser), index cards
Grading Policy – No Late Work!
1) Homework / Projects: 30% of final grade - assigned every class
o 10 points for mastery (usually> 80% correct/complete)
o 6-8 points for proficiency (usually 60-80% correct/complete)
o R for 50-60% correct (must complete over ½ for credit)
o Assignments with scores other than 10 points may be FIXED to get FULL CREDIT (10 points)
o All Fixes are due before the chapter test
o Homework Quizzes may replace some HW assignment points
2) Tests/Quizzes/Projects: 70% of final grade
Tests with scores less than 75% may be retaken for maximum score of 75%.
Grading Scale:
100% - 90% = A (Superior)
89% - 80% = B (Above Average)
79% - 70% = C (Average)
69% - 60% = D (Below Average)
Below 59% = F (Failing)
Work Habits – E - excellent, S - satisfactory, U - unsatisfactory
o Completion and correctness of “Fixes” of any work (teacher’s discretion)
Cooperation – E - excellent, S - satisfactory, U - unsatisfactory
o Participation, tardiness, attendance, behavior (teacher’s discretion)
Attendance and Make-up:
o Students are expected to attend school every day
o STUDENTS MUST MAKE-UP ANY MISSED WORK in a timely manner, before chapter test
o Make up tests/quizzes must be taken AFTER SCHOOL or before school!
Homework help: Available in classroom
o After school, every school day 3:07- 3:30, except Tuesdays (at teacher’s discretion)
