PARENTS, PLEASE EMAIL A NOTE TO MRS. BLAINE REGARDING YOUR CHILD'S ABSENCE.
When a student is absent, I leave all work on the student's desk with a list of instructions.Β Β
Students have the same number of school days to make up the work as they are absent. I will not ask for the make-up work.Β Students will need to take responsibility and turn it in.Β Β
Parents may request for classwork and homework to be sent to the office or to a siblingβs classroom. However, requests need to be made by 12:00 PM. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee I will have the work ready to send.
If no requests are made, or if requests are made too late, students will get the work when they return to school.Β
If a student leaves school early, the same policy above will apply.
THIS POLICY APPLIES ONLY TO EXCUSED ABSENCES. Please read the difference between EXCUSED and UNEXCUSED absences below.
Β
Difference Between EXCUSED and UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
EXCUSEDΒ
Absence due to illness, medical appointments, and pre-approved religious observances (Religious observances must be approved BEFORE the absence. Approval forms are in the main office.)
Per District policy, students will only be provided with make-up work due to EXCUSED absences.
UNEXCUSED
Absences due to single day trips, multi-day trips, or religious observances that have not been pre-approved. *Even with a note, these absences are considered UNEXCUSED.Β
Per District policy, make-up work is not provided.
Tests and assignments missed due to UNEXCUSED absences receive a score of 0.
