It's that time of year again, Easter, but why do we celebrate Easter? We honor Easter because it is Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. It's one of the most important holidays in Christianity. Easter originated from a Pagan festival that celebrated the Spring Equinox. Easter's origins are rooted in both ancient Pagan celebrations of spring and the Christian commemoration of Jesus' resurrection, with the word "Easter" potentially deriving from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre. One way you can honor the Christian holiday is exchanging gifts, egg hunts, and decorating Easter eggs, often with colorful dyes or chocolate. Another way is to have an egg hunt, play an egg relay race, play an egg toss, and roll eggs down a lawn. Games you can play are Easter Mad Libs, "Would You Rather? Easter Edition, Easter Bingo, guessing games, and an Easter-themed scavenger hunt. People like to bake hot cross buns, eat a special breakfast, have an Easter brunch, and have an Easter feast. Other activities: Attend an Easter parade, go on a family day trip, read Easter-themed books, make Easter baskets, and send Easter cards. Finally, there is a place called Easter Island. Easter Island is located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, a Chilean territory, and one of the most isolated inhabited islands on Earth, located about 2,200 miles west of Chile.

Earth Day is almost here! Earth Day falls on April 22nd and is a holiday to protect plants, animals, and trees. The first Earth Day was in 1970 and was a huge success! More than 2 million people participated in the event. It is our responsibility to take care of our planet.
Earth Day highlights the damage that humans have done to the environment. Like how about 15 million trees are cut down every year. Or how even just one piece of plastic can significantly affect the world. Now imagine more than 380 million tons of that piece per year. And only 9% is recycled!
Earth Day was created by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1969. He wanted to do something about climate change. On the first Earth Day, April 22, 1970 more than 200 million people participated. Today, more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day. You can help too! You can start reducing your use of plastic, water, and electricity. You can also go to a park or a beach and clean up any litter or trash you see. You can also recycle your plastic. Look for the blue bin!
Earth day is helping, but climate change, pollution, and deforestation is still affecting the world. You can start by taking part in Earth Day and celebrating it. You know what they say, “Every day is Earth Day.”

Look for the blue bin and put your used plastic in it.
Autism Awareness Month
Autism Awareness Month is all of April. Created by a Ph.D, psychologist and autism researcher Bernard Rimland in April 1970 but President Ronald Reagan issued April to officially be declared as National Autism Awareness Month in April 1988. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental that affects communication, social interaction, and behavior. It is estimated that 1 in every 44 kids in the USA are diagnosed with Autism. The symbol of this special month is a puzzle piece. The puzzle piece was first introduced in 1963. This symbol represents hope, power, strength, and unity for those who have the disorder. Then the ribbon was introduced in 1999 to show the complexity of autism, the diverse spectrum of the disorder and to show support and awareness for ASD. This month is all about showing awareness about the realities of autism and to show support of the people who live with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
