🏆 In the Adult-Size category, we placed 3rd overall in the prestigious All-Round event, which recognizes teams that use the same robot across multiple disciplines, a true test of versatility and design strength. We also took 3rd in Manipulation (Archery – 6th, Basketball – 2nd), 5th in Hybrid (Mini-DRC), and 3rd in Mobility (Sprint – 3rd, Marathon – 2nd, Obstacle Run – 2nd).
🏆 Our Kid-Size team placed 5th in All-Round, with strong results like 2nd in United Soccer, 4th in Archery, 5th in Mini-DRC, and 6th in Sprint.
🏆 The highlight for our junior team (Roboparks-LU), made up of high school students trained in our lab, was securing 1st place in All-Round in the Junior League! They also placed 1st in Weightlifting, 1st in Sprint, 1st in Marathon (with a new event record), and 2nd in Triple Jump. It has been amazing to see their growth and performance on the international stage.
🏆 In addition to the competition, Austin Barrett and Nicolas Pottier presented their research projects at the FIRA World Summit. Austin presented Developing a User-Friendly Teleoperation Interface for Humanoid Robots, and Nicolas presented A Modular Object Detection System for Humanoid Robots Using YOLO, which won the Best Paper Award, congrats to both of them!
Our Snobots won BIG this weekend at the FIRA Canada 2025 HuroCup, taking home the gold medals in both the small-size and large-size humanoid categories! The robotics team worked tirelessly to the very last minute, showing determination and resilience that carried them to the top spot in both leagues.
Congratulations to our competitors:
