UNIFORM DRESS CODE & COMPLIANCE
Laurel Hill believes strongly that school uniforms contribute to a sense of unity and communicate respect for the academic endeavor. We will require ALL STUDENTS to adhere strictly to our dress code at all times.
General Guidelines
Regular uniform dress: Girls:
♦ Girls must wear only LHS school sweaters.
♦ Outer jackets may not be worn in class.
♦ Girls must wear only navy blue uniform shorts when weather permits.
♦ Uniform slacks may be worn throughout the year.
♦ Turtlenecks and knit tennis shirt may be worn during winter months but only in combination with school sweater or vest but not on Assembly Day.
♦ Shoes: Only flat shoes or heels not higher than 3/4 inch. In addition, no sandals or open-toed, sneakers or “sneaker look-alikes are permitted.
Boys:
♦ Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
♦ Boys must wear only LHS school sweaters or vests.
♦ Outer jackets may not be worn in class.
♦ Boys must wear only uniform shorts when weather permits.
♦ Turtlenecks and knit tennis shirt may be worn during winter months but only in combination with school sweater or vest but not on Assembly Day.
♦ Shoes: only black leather shoes are allowed. Shoes must have laces. Sneakers or sneaker look-alikes are not permitted.
Assembly dress: All students must wear their Laurel Hill ties. Students will not be permitted to attend Assembly programs unless they are in the proper Assembly attire.
School Uniform Non-compliance Procedures Grades K-8: Students will be reviewed each morning for adherence to the dress code. When a student breaks the uniform code, a note will be sent home. The second time the child does not meet the dress requirements, a personal parental contact will be made.
Free Dress Friday:
Students are permitted clothes of their choice with the following exceptions:
Jeans
T-shirts
Sweat suits or sweat pants
Sneakers
Polo shirts without collars (boys)
