We are a citizen-led nonprofit that partners with the community and school to support Mendham Township School District’s innovative educational programs through charitable giving.
Revitalization of the MTEF
MTEF's mission is to raise funds to support, develop and enhance education programs, activities and opportunities for the Mendham Township School District.
Originally established in 2007, the Foundation previously raised and invested over $400,000 for the Township’s students. All funds were utilized on projects related to technology, sciences, environmental studies and performing arts.
After a six year hiatus, the Foundation re-launched, filing for 501(c)3 status, and is currently recruiting volunteers to serve as additional Board members and active fundraising.
About the Foundation
The Foundation uses funds to invest in, support and enhance elements of education that the district and state are unable to provide.
For example, funding went toward technology and valuable student services such as building WiFi, development of outdoor classroom spaces, and the addition of SmartBoards in all classrooms throughout the District.
The Foundation is able to carry over funds from year to year, which allows for increased investments in larger projects, long-term projects, as well as more costly programs.
While a Foundation and PTO share a common goal - the advancement of Mendham Township’s children’s education - each are governed and function differently. There are times when PTO and Foundation objectives overlap, so it is vital that both groups work closely together.
