Theme: Who We Organise Ourselves
Central Idea: Organisations exist to assist our communities
The lines of inquiry we will explore are:
What types of organisations are in the community
How humans learn to keep ourselves safe and healthy
Why are organisations important?
Clothing
Could you please ensure your child has sufficient spare clothing in their bags please, this includes socks!
Our learning
This term we are continuing to look at the structures and functions of organisations in the community and how they support us. Term 4 will see the children explore organisations including firefighters, farming and shops. As well as the different transportation they use.
If we have any parents/carers who work for any of these organisations we’d be grateful if you let us know.
We will also be looking at emotions, where the children will be learning about different feelings and how we can learn to manage them.

Home learning activities
To support the children’s learning they will be doing in school, here are some activities they could do at home:
Could you paint or draw a fire engine or tractor picture?
Can you find any food items in your home which you think have grown on a farm? Perhaps you could visit the local farm shop or supermarket and purchase a food item you think is grown on a farm.
Visit the fire station museum at Woodlands garden centre - it reopens on 4th March.
We’d love to see photos on Tapestry of your adventures!
Focus week
Focus weeks will continue this term. When you receive an email for your child’s week, we would really appreciate it if you could reply to the questions and upload photos to Tapestry please. It helps us to understand your child’s learning and interests at home more and we can use this information to support their interests further in school.
