PEPA Tots
In PEPA Tots we are learning about the different countries around the world, we have made a new display with photos of the children and their families in England or different countries that they may have visited with a little bit of information about it. We are looking at the different flags for each country and within our class activities the children have been trying to copy them through mark making. The children are really enjoying learning about where the other children might have visited across the world and finding out about new countries that they had not heard of before.
KS2 PYP Open Afternoon
We are so pleased to have seen a great turnout at our KS2 PYP Open Afternoon. It was a privilege to witness the enthusiasm of our children as they shared their learning experiences with you, showcasing the incredible progress they have made throughout this module in their learning around How The World Works, and the academic year.
During the afternoon, our students took the opportunity to discuss various aspects of the PYP. They explained the concept of inquiry learning and demonstrated how all subject areas interconnect within this framework. In addition, they reflected upon their learning processes through the use of reflection tickets, providing insight into how they evaluate their own progress and understanding.
Another significant focus was on the learner attributes, highlighting how these are integral to their development and how we, as a school community, strive to embody these values. Furthermore, the children articulated their understanding of International Mindedness, emphasising the importance of appreciating different cultures and perspectives in our increasingly interconnected world.
We are immensely proud of our students' efforts and their ability to engage with their audience. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love of learning within our school community.
Information
Safer Internet Day Workshop
As part of our commitment to promoting digital safety and wellbeing, PEPA were thrilled to host an informative and engaging workshops for our students in support of Safer Internet Day (11th February 2025). Children from Reception through to Year 6 participated in this interactive event, which was designed to help them understand the importance of staying safe online and develop the skills to navigate the digital world responsibly.
The workshop provided age-appropriate discussions and activities that helped students explore key online safety topics. From understanding privacy settings and protecting personal information, the children learned how to make smart and safe choices while using the internet. The workshop also encouraged students to speak up if they ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe online.
Throughout the workshop, students were encouraged to engage in open discussions, asked questions, and role-played different online scenarios. It was wonderful to see how actively the children participated and how seriously they took the message of online safety.
PEPA believes that online safety is a partnership between school and home. We encourage you to have ongoing conversations with your child about the internet, its potential risks, and how to stay safe while using it.
PE - Athletics competition
On 30th January, children from Year 3 and Year 4 excitedly participated in an athletics competition, showcasing their growing talents. In line with the "Healthy Me" initiative, everyone had a go at various field events, showing their agility, strength, and enthusiasm. After the field events, the students joined forces to tackle the thrilling track events, encouraging teamwork. The atmosphere was buzzing with cheers and support as they motivated each other and made great memories together.
Their excellent sportsmanship was recognised, and they proudly won the Fair Play award. This achievement reflects their outstanding unity and determination.
A big thank you goes out to the parents for dropping off and picking up their children and making this fun and enriching experience possible.
