Well done to Roald Dahl class for having the best attendance this week in KS1. Additionally, well done to Alan Turing class who achieved 100% attendance this week which is fantastic! Year 6 need to continue their attendance into SATs week and we wish them good luck! Whatever the outcome, we are really proud of them all.

During the past week, the children have really enjoyed the lovely weather outside. They went around the field on Rogation day being thankful for the plants, birds and insects. They had great fun exploring and identifying insects using magnifying glasses. They also completed an inquiry on Ramadan and Eid and celebrated Eid by making fruit kebabs and dressing up in beautiful clothing.

This week we have been inquiring about vaccines and the impact they can have on life expectancy. As part of this inquiry journey, we have worked to create a chronological timeline to help us understand how Smallpox influenced the beginnings of vaccine developments throughout history - including modern day medical advances. We have also been researching the differences between TB infection and TB diseases, drawing a diagram to represent this. In the coming days, we are going to be writing a non-chronological report to detail all of the things that we have researched.
SCHOOL INFORMATION
On Site School Safety
Just a reminder that if children are coming to school on bikes or scooters, they should be disembarking these before they enter the school site and then walking them into school. This is to ensure that they don't hit other children or adults as they come onto the site and also for safety across the school car park.
We politely ask that you do NOT drive through the EXIT sign of the school car park as it is a one-way system and therefore, if entering the car park, this should be done through the ENTRY sign. This is to prevent any accidents with cars leaving the carpark and with children and adults who are crossing the exit path. We also seem to have an increasing amount of cars driving in to drop off or to pick up children from the school car park again and so we will have no choice but to close the gates. Unless agreed with the Principal or a disabled badge is in use, the car park is not for the use of parents or carers.
Thank you for your continued support.
Illness
We have had a spate of sickness bugs in school recently, if your child is unwell and has been sick or had diarrhoea please keep them home for the recommended 48 hours. This helps to ensure that these bugs don't spread across other children and adults in the school.
Thank you
