A huge well done to Greta Thunberg class, who has 100% attendance this week! In KS2, Marcus Rashford are the winning class for attendance so a huge well done to them too! Unfortunately, our attendance has dipped again meaning that we are falling below National overall. The children have missed so much learning already over the past two years so it is very important that they do not miss anymore valuable learning time and should be in school. There is further information below around our attendance procedures.

Our Wonderful Inquiry Work

Beatrix Potter Class

This week Beatrix Potter's lines of inquiry have led us to look at the story Pumpkin Soup as a provocation to develop a repertoire of talk and a joint definition about collaboration. We have explored with our senses, developed positive relationships with our peers and adults, fully participated in our inquiry and developed thinking and communication skills.

We have experienced many group collaborative tasks including: making pumpkin soup using all our senses; going on a joint journey to an enchanted castle in PE; many children further experienced collaborative play through their own Inquiry Time.

J K Rowling Class

This week we have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons and their approach to crime and punishment. We wrote a diary entry in role as a villager watching a trial take place. We worked really hard and used some excellent vocabulary and even included some similes.

In PE, we have been practising our ball skills. This week, we practised throwing and catching using two hands. We used a range of different balls as a challenge. We were great communicators and encouraged each other throughout the lesson.

SENCO Meetings

Please use this link to access the google form for booking a SENCo meeting with Mrs Drogomirecki. If you are happy to wait until the normal school parents evening to have a meeting then you do not need to use this link.

Behaviour

Thank you to those of you who have already given feedback on our proposed behaviour policy. If anyone else would like to take part please use the following links.

Each year we look at our policies and update them as needed. This year we would value your feedback on our behaviour policy. It would be great if you could take a few minutes to have a read through this policy linked here and then complete the short google form with feedback. We can then see how we can implement your views and ideas along with those of the pupils and staff at Peninsula East Primary Academy.

If the feedback could be with us by Monday 18th of October that would be greatly appreciated.

School Information

Be Internet Legends National Assembly

KS2 joined schools all over the country for the Be Internet Legends National Assembly. Learning a whole host of e-safety tips, they sat totally engaged for 45 minutes.

The National Assemblies are designed to bring together school communities across the UK - and engage teachers and pupils in everything Be Internet Legends has to offer - bringing their online safety learning to life. This helps your children be safer and more confident online.

We hope parents were able to watch along from home, to join in the fun and share the experience, the assembly introduced concepts that your child is learning about to help them embed that learning at home.
