This week, J K Rowling Class were lucky enough to visit The Fenn Bell to observe and sketch some animals as part of their inquiries. They felt like VIPs for the day, as the staff kindly opened the zoo just for us! After doing a tour of the zoo, they were able to choose different animals to sketch. Some of our favourites included the white foxes, flamingos and monkeys. The children worked hard to develop their observation and sketching skills and asked some brilliant questions to the staff to find out even more about the incredible creatures that they had seen. When they got back to school, the children reflected on their work and added a few more details. Over the next few weeks, we will be creating some final pieces to display.

In Year 3 we have been reading The Firework-Maker's Daughter. We have been writing setting descriptions of what we think Mount Merapi would be like. In groups, we made our own papier mache volcanoes and then erupted them as part of our DT day!
