Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to you all at the end of a fantastic term. It has been packed full of fantastic learning and exciting opportunities. We have welcomed visitors who make a difference in their communities, travelled to the O2 to form one of the biggest choirs in the world, worked with magistrates, competed in sports competitions and plenty more. 

I have personally taken great joy in seeing resilient young learners who value collaboration and see every day as an opportunity to learn more and support their peers. This is refreshing upon reflecting on the past few years, the children never cease to amaze me at how they bounce back from adversity and rally together.

We hope next term brings with it some warmer weather as our Year 5 class will be taking part in Forest School with the cohort split between Monday and Friday sessions (please see the Forest School Letter for Year 5 parents addressing uniform expectations). Please be reminded that the introduction of Forest School has caused Year 5 PE to move to Wednesday mornings and they also begin their Thursday morning swimming sessions.

Earlier this term, a parental survey was released to all parents to voice your opinions on Oaks Primary Academy, thank you to those who have completed the survey, it allows us to act on feedback directly and ensure our practices are the best they can possibly be.  Unfortunately we have only received 27 responses thus far. The deadline has been extended until tomorrow and I would greatly appreciate your opinions. Please fill out the survey by using the following link: Parent Survey 2023

At the start of Term 4, Monday 20th February, we expect all pupils to return to school for the new term wearing school shoes. Trainers are to be worn on PE days only. 

• Monday 20th February 2023 - Return to school 

• Clubs will continue from Monday 20th February 2023 and run until Thursday 16th March 2023

• Tuesday 21st February - Mini Rugby Day (All pupils from Reception to Year 6 wear PE kit)

• Friday 3rd March 2023 - World Book Day at Oaks! (See email sent on 9.2.23)

• Wednesday 8th March 2023 - International Women's Football Day (all girls to wear PE kit)

• Wednesday 8th March 2023 - Basketball for boys (all boys to wear PE kit) 

• Thursday 16th March -  last day for Clubs until the new term

• Friday 17th March 2023 - Red Nose Day (information to follow)

• Week beginning 27th March 2023 - Parent Teacher Conference Week (Dates and Times TBC) 

• Friday 31st March 2023 - Easter Celebration at St. Martin's Church (Time TBC) 

• Friday 31st March 2023 - Last Day of Term

• Monday 17th April 2023 - Start of Term 5
