Beatrix Potter Class
Beatrix Potter class visited Slough Fort on Wednesday and had a fabulous time. The children particularly enjoyed climbing to the top and looking out towards Essex. They also enjoyed going down into where the soldiers would have hidden and what kind of artillery that they would have used. They learnt a lot and were buzzing about the experience back at school.
Captain Sir Tom Moore Class
This week, we have had so much fun reflecting on what it means to be a pupil at Peninsula East Primary Academy by writing a letter to be added into the time capsule. The children have carefully considered what people of the future might want to know about life at PEPA in 2022, they have included information about: our use of technology and Chromebooks, our inquiry learning strategies and even the important information about what we like to eat for lunch and games we play when we are outside. To finish this week’s celebrations, we have made a suncatcher using an outline of the Queen’s head and used tissue paper to create a red, white and blue pattern. When these are placed up to the window, the sun shines through them beautifully.
Allan Ahlberg Class
Year 1 had a wonderful time when we visited the Church last Friday to work with Jenny and Jeremy. We were able to learn about historical musical instruments, and about how vibrations allow us to hear sound. We were lucky to even be able to try some of the instruments, a thumb piano and a special drum!
School information
Visit from Olympian Eilidh Gibson
On Tuesday, we was lucky enough to welcome Scottish slalom canoeist, Eilidh Gibson, to our school to get everyone moving in a hit circuit. Eilidh was able to give an insight on her successes in a whole school assembly! A selected few children was given the opportunity to have a picture in her canoe! This has been a great opportunity for all children to come together and get active!
Time Capsule
The children were given a chance to contribute to the time capsule that will be buried at All Saints Church on Sunday 5th June! The capsule has been filled with photographs, poems and pieces of art made by the children! The capsule will be dug back up after 70 years! If any of the children want to attend the event and bury the time capsule, they can do this on 5th June. Some of our children presented this to Rev Gwilt today.
Introducing our new Vice Principal, Miss Heard
I am delighted to be able to introduce myself as the new Vice Principal at Peninsula East Primary Academy. Previously, I have worked at High Halstow Primary Academy, teaching across Key Stage 1 and 2 and have been SENCO there for a number of years. I am looking forward to teaching Year 4 after the May Half Term and getting to know all the children, staff, parents and carers over the coming weeks. I am excited to be working with the school team to provide the children with exciting, creative and meaningful learning experiences, which build their enthusiasm for learning and help them to grow and develop positively in a variety of ways. I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming weeks and hope that you all enjoy a lovely break next week.
TTRockstars LAT Primaries Top of the Rocks tournament Module 5

We would like to say a big well done to all children for their super efforts and for being risk-takers when completing their questions.
The top 3 highest scoring classes were Captain Sir Tom Moore, J.K.Rowling and Marcus Rashford.
The top 3 most valuable players were Ibrahim S, Harry P and Dionysios L.
Jubilee Celebrations
Cream Teas with KS1 and EYFS
At the start of this week, we welcomed Key Stage 1 & EYFS parents into the school to enjoy an delicious cream tea in celebration of the Queen's Jubilee despite the downpour of rain! We had a great time being able to enjoy this celebration together (while enjoying yummy snacks too!)
Jubilee Plate Painting
As part of our Jubilee celebrations, our children were able to find their inner artist in an plate painting workshop! The children had a great time being able to show their artistic skills.
Thank you!
Biscuit Baking in Year 1
Year 1 were keeping busy as they were able to work collaboratively to follow instructions and bake royal crown biscuits! They were delicious!
