Oliver Jeffers Class
The children in Oliver Jeffers Class have been busy enjoying their final few weeks in Reception. They are continuing to be the resilient, hardworking and kind children they have been all year and Miss Hartung has no doubt they are ready to be successful in Year 1!
The last module has included several firsts for the children including their first class assembly and their first Sports Day! They also really enjoyed engaging in Arty Party and helping to make The Gruffalo.
As the weather has got warmer (sometimes!), the children have enjoyed playing with the parachute and engaging in more water play outside.
Paul O'Grady & Steve Backshall
Both classes have been really enjoying our English text, 'The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.' This week, we used film clips to help us to understand the text and imagine the setting when we wrote diary entries in the role of Lucy and Edmund.
As our current line of inquiry is 'creativity in theatre', we watched the advertisement for a version of the story that was staged in a London theatre. We designed leaflets combining our art skills and a review to advertise the production. We enjoyed watching the Year 6 production and took on the role of theatre critics to review the excellent show.
LAT Sports Day and LAT Kwik Cricket
On Monday and Wednesday of this week, some children from Year 6 attending the LAT Sports Day at Dartford running club and the LAT Kwik Cricket at the Maths school. On both days, it was commented on of how well behaved the children were as well as how encouraging they were of other schools. At the LAT Sports Day, the children took part in a range of field activities as well as 50m sprints and obstacle relays. At the LAT Kwik Cricket, the children competed against 3 different schools. Before they competed, the children were practicing their skills in order for them to achieve the best that they could!
ARLO 💙
We would just like to say a big thank you to Arlo for supporting our children this year. He has helped so many of our children in school, providing support to those who need it and comfort to those who need just that extra bit of emotional help in school. The children have enjoyed walking him and spending time with him outside too! Thank you to his owner for letting him come into school each day; we are so grateful that you allow him to spend his days here, even though he is your family pet too! Thank you for sharing him with us (even though you miss him being there with you all day!) 💙
In Year 6, our children complete the PYP Exhibition. This is an opportunity for them to showcase their skills in an independent project. This year, our wonderful Head Boy, Head Girl and their deputies went to Hundred of Hoo Primary Academy to represent PEPA at our local cluster event. We showed off our projects, looked at other children's work and enjoyed some delicious refreshments as a 'well done' for the children's work.
At PEPA, we hosted our own PYP Exhibition for parents and carers of our Year 6 pupils. Thank you to those who were able to attend and came along to listen to our pupils share their projects. It was fantastic to walk around the exhibition and hear our children talking so confidently about their work.

The Cyber Choices sessions for parents, looking at how we can help to safeguard young people from committing computer misuse offences, and why this needs to happen, can be booked now via this link: Eventbrite
These sessions last around an hour, are totally FREE to attend, and we had such positive responses when we ran these before. They are aimed at parents/carers of a wide range of children/young people, from KS2 pupils (7-8 year olds) right up to college/uni students (18+) Each webinar covers the same material, so they need only sign up for one of them.
My colleagues in Cyber Protect are running separate webinars for parents and carers, with a focus on protecting children from online threats. These sessions – also FREE - can be booked here: Eventbrite.
