Our Wonderful Inquiry Work
Beatrix Potter Class
Beatrix Potter Class have been revisiting learning on number bonds to five and ten. Using their new maths outdoor learning centre and challenging themselves to make number bonds in different ways as well as exploring repeating patterns. In one of their lines of inquiry, the class have been working in small groups to discuss, analyse and then categorise fairy tale characters. They discussed what they observed about the characters under the key concepts of responsibility and perspective.
Charles Dickens Class
Year 2 have been great artists and have been inquiring into art culture. They have looked at the Mexican Day of the Dead festival and created some fantastic paper mache sugar skull masks traditionally seen at the Day of the Dead festival. They have also been curious as to what art looks like in Africa and have recreated African prints traditionally found in countries such as Zambia, Ghana and Rwanda. This week they have been looking at Banksy.
Slough Fort Flag Winner!!!
Congratulations to Franklin in Year 1 at Allhallows as he was presented with his flag design on his very own flag to keep. Franklin and his family also got to attend Slough Fort so he could proudly hoist his new flag to be flown at the fort. We are really proud and I think you will agree that the flag design is fantastic!
Theatre Group Visit
Pupils in Key stage 2 were visited by an outdoor theatre group this week and each took part in a drama workshop. The children really enjoyed getting involved, covering a range of current themes and discovered their inner theatrical talents. As the children enjoyed it so much, we will look as to whether we can work with the theatre group again the future.
Post Box for Medway
We were asked by the local library to decorate a post box that will be used in a local Medway Festival and also in some of the local buildings around Medway. Some of our Year 3 children decorated it and it looks eye-catching and sparkly. Hopefully some of you might spot it when you are out and about.
Information from Medway

Rainbow Day Reminder
Next Friday the children are invited to a non-uniform day and where all the colours of the rainbow. Please donate a £1 on the day that will be passed onto Medway hospital.
