It is great to see that attendance is starting to improve and we were almost at 97% as a whole school this week. I hope that we can aim for 97% or above for whole school attendance next week.

PEPA Tots
This week Pepa Tots line of inquiry has been looking at ‘changes’. They have been reading the book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and looking at the fruits the caterpillar ate before he became a beautiful butterfly. They also took the risk of trying different types of fruits and having great fun doing the ‘Very hungry caterpillar yoga’ movement with their bodies in different directions.
They also had a great time printing caterpillars with potatoes and exploring the paint, mixing colours to make beautiful butterflies to put on our display boards. Finally, Pepa Tots did an inquiry on the life cycle of a butterfly, how from an egg, a caterpillar pops out and builds a house for him called the cocoon and then out emerges a beautiful butterfly.
Captain Sir Tom Moore Class
In Captain Sir Tom Moore class we have been practising using the Reading Rainbow to unpick our class text 'High Rise Mystery'. The children have enjoyed having agency over the way we discuss and debate the themes within the text and then answering questions using the lenses from the Reading Rainbow. These include: inference, opinions and finding evidence within the text.
