Our Wonderful Inquiry Work
Julia Donaldson
The children took part in Internet Safety Day this week. The children discussed how to stay safe online and used the class ipads to do some research and some digital art. We looked at the story of Hanni and the Magic Window which helps children see the importance of staying safe on the internet. Super class discussions and collaborative learning. The children also drew a picture to help remind them who can keep them safe. Whether that is any teacher in school or family and trusted adults.
Marcus Rashford & Walt Disney
Year 3 has been working hard this week on a range of new skills. Within cooking, Marcus Rashford's class made Aloo Tikka and Walt Disney class made fruit kebabs. The children enjoyed learning some cutting skills and working as part of a team.
On Tuesday, the children took part in a workshop for internet safety day, it was an interactive activity that then led into the children speaking about safety online.
Benjamin Zephaniah
This week, Benjamin Zephaniah class have been working hard to publish their Floodland narratives. These are based on the text 'Floodland' by Marcus Sedgewick. We predicted what might happen after the fearsome battle on the Island of Eels. The children published these on their chromebooks and we are printing them to create their own books to bring home soon.

PEPA's Got Talent!
A big thank you to all of the children who took part in PEPA's Got Talent today. We were treated to a mixture of singing, dancing, gymnastics, football skills and so much more! Well done to every child who auditioned, and a huge thank you to our performers who put on an incredible show today. We were immensely proud of them all. It is great to see how many talents we have across our children in the school.
KS2 PYP Open Afternoon
On Monday afternoon, we invited the parents and carers of our children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 for our PYP Open Afternoon. During the afternoon, the children shared some of their most memorable experiences and learning that they have been involved with over the last two terms. It was brilliant to see children and their families come together to celebrate the learning that has taken place and for them to share this together. As an IB World School, we are always looking for ways to incorporate everyone within our learning community and we know that the children enjoy doing this too!
Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day is held every February all around the world. It’s a special day when we think about using the internet and technology.
Safer Internet Day is a chance to celebrate all the amazing things technology can help us with, but also to think about any worries we might have going online.
At PEPA, we had our own key stage assembly which was followed up by completing the resources from SID. Some year groups chose to fill in a quiz or learn about emojis, while others watched age-appropriate videos or identified who our trusted adults are.
KS2 joined a live webinar hosted by Google Internet Legends which they found both informative and fun.
The children had the opportunity to play Internet Legends, which they love to do.
