Well done to Greta Thunberg class, who has won attendance Ted this week. In KS2, JK Rowling class are the winning class for attendance so a huge well done to them too! As we have cases of Covid in most classes across the school at the moment, our attendance is very low but we hope as we move towards the half term break, our children will return and our attendance will improve.

Marcus Rashford class
In our Inquiry this week, Marcus Rashford class have been learning about the purpose of the human skeleton. We discovered that the longest bone in the body is the femur, the bone between our hip and knee. We have designed an investigation to find the answer to our question ‘do people with longer femurs jump further?’. We learned about different jumps in PE and we decided on the best jump to do for our investigation and then we explored this. We are excited to learn more about the human body and look at Marie Curie’s discoveries around the human body through the rest of the term.
Alan Turing Class
This week, Alan Turing class have studied the artistic style of L.S.Lowry. We considered a range of his paintings and discussed what they had in common before trying out some of his skills ourselves. We have started to recreate his famous painting 'Going to Work' using our sketching skills.
Packed Lunch Reminder
Just a quick reminder about packed lunches. As a school, we promote healthy and balanced lunches and as part of this have said that the children should not have chocolate bars or sweets as part of their lunch. For a balanced diet, we would recommend any fruit or vegetables alongside the rest of their lunch and any biscuit bars with chocolate are fine as these are a lot lighter.
We'd also like to remind you that we do have children with severe nut allergies in the school and so we would ask that such items and spreads are not included in packed lunches please as this can have very serious consequences for some of our children.
