Year 11 students at Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School have celebrated another year of superb results this week.
In the benchmark Progress 8 measure, the school expects to achieve above +0.95. This means that, on average, students have achieved more than four fifths of a grade better than expected in each of their subjects.
56.8% of all grades were at 7-9, up from 56.2% in 2023.
97.5% achieved 5+ grades in English and mathematics, while 99% gained a standard pass in both subjects. The average grade per GCSE course taken by the students was 6.79.
67.6% of all grades in mathematics were at the top 7-9 band, and 55.4% of those in English.
The average grade achieved across the EBacc group of subjects was 6.89.
The Attainment 8 measure, average pupil achievement across 8 qualifications, including English and maths and at least 3 other English Baccalaureate qualifications was 70.16.
