During module 3 and 4 our phase 3 students have been rehearsing for the Shakespeare Festival at the Woodville Halls Gravesend. The students performed an adapted version of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ written by their drama teacher Keren Reed. The performance was held on Thursday 14th of March with 4 other schools, including Longfield Academy. The Milestone students brought the house down and were a credit to us all. Through the rehearsals and performance they exemplified the model IB student, demonstrating all the learner attributes, in particular, resilience, communication and caring natures.
We are all immensely proud of their achievements and delighted with the personal growth they have all made.
Embarking on an extraordinary journey to Aprica, Italy, Snowfields Ski Squad experienced an unforgettable ski trip that exceeded all expectations! The pupils were absolute superstars from the early morning meeting at Bearsted Campus all the way through the airport, on the plane and finally arriving at our hotel for the week. From the moment we arrived, Aprica embraced the Ski Squad with open arms, offering not just stunning slopes, but a warm and inclusive atmosphere that made every moment magical.
Aprica's breathtaking scenery served as the backdrop for our exhilarating adventures. The crisp mountain air filled our lungs as we took in the panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and picturesque valleys. Each day brought new excitement and challenges as our pupils fearlessly tackled the slopes, discovering the thrill of skiing and the joy of mastering new skills.
Evenings were spent building new friendships, enjoying the thrills of bumboarding, sampling the delights of Italian cuisine and celebrating the progressions and falls of the day.
The instructors at Aprica were absolute stars, patiently guiding our pupils every step of the way. Their expertise and encouragement transformed nervous beginners into confident skiers, instilling a sense of pride and accomplishment in each and every one of them. With their unwavering support, our pupils embraced the slopes with enthusiasm, overcoming obstacles and pushing their boundaries in ways they never thought possible.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of our trip was witnessing the bonds that formed among our pupils. As they cheered each other on, shared triumphs and setbacks, and celebrated every achievement, it was clear that Aprica had not only brought them closer to nature but also closer to each other. The sense of camaraderie and support that permeated our group was truly inspiring, reminding us all of the power of friendship and shared experiences.
Aprica, with its majestic mountains and welcoming spirit, provided the perfect setting for our pupils to shine. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary destination, we left with hearts full of gratitude and memories that will last a lifetime. Our ski trip to Aprica was more than just a vacation—it was a transformative journey that filled us with joy, courage, and a renewed sense of possibility.
