Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade and Second PE with Mary Alber
I am excited to be teaching PE skills and games to our youngest LASD students. There is plenty of opportunity for students to work independently on physical skills, as well as in a group setting using those skills to play games. A large portion of PE at this age includes working with students on HOW to be an active member of a game. There will be a lot of modeling and practice throughout the year.
PE classes at all schools will be held on the days indicated below. Please make sure your child brings a water bottle and wears appropriate clothing and shoes for active play.
Tuesdays - Almond ( TK ,Kindergarten, First and Second Grade)
Wednesdays - Covington ( Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade) and Loyola (TK and K )
Thursdays - Covington ( Kindergarten, First Grade) and Loyola ( TK)and K )
Fridays - Almond (TK , Kindergarten, First and Second Grade)
Narnia is a Retired Guide Dogs for the Blind breeder dog and an active member of the Alber PE classes. She is kind, extremely well trained and spends hours enjoying the students . Narnia dresses up for Halloween, has her own sticker collection, and is a favorite among staff and students across LASD.
You can find the CA Physical Education Standards here.
