7th Grade Life Science
Ms. Truong
Approach to Teaching:
The purpose of Junior High School science is to give students an introduction to a lot different science topic over two years so they gain an understanding of the work around them. In 7th grade it is my job to help them understand the processes that happen about Life, both microscopically and macroscopically. I do this through teaching several big ideas that are revisited through the curriculum throughout the year. In addition to educating students about science, I also try to model how to organize a binder, and how to take effective notes.
We will cover the following units:
Unit 1: Ecosystem
Unit 2: Chemistry
Unit 3: Earth History
Unit 4: Human Activity and Human Impact
Students will gain understanding of these topics through vocabulary development, lab activities, lecture and note taking. Class attendance and participation is extremely important because labs may not be duplicated and are difficult to make up.
