Hilltopper Run (5K & Kid's mile) and Alumni Gathering
.... a great way to support LA Schools and the LAHS cross country team, as well as see some 'old' friends!

Thanks to those who took part in 2023! Over 20 alumni (and some offspring) participated in the race and/or joined in the post-race alumni gathering. It was low key, but fun and the general sentiment was to grow it.
Background
In 2022, Tom Rojas, LAHS alumnus and TCR Productions Owner/Race Director reached out with a desire to re-engage in and give back to Los Alamos. In conjuction with the LA Public Schools Foundation, he introduced the Hilltopper Run (click for 2023 5K & mile results). The XC team receives a donation for staffing the event as a community service project. Oh, there was a $250 prize for the individual winners of the 5K! Mr. Rojas is very interested in attracting alumni, and the idea to host a post-race gathering was born out if his initiative.
Moving Forward
Set your sites on next August! Run, slog, walk, have your kids take part in the mile... Plan to join other alumni and coaches for the post race gathering and spread the word to others. Details will be published as the event nears. Last year was simply a bring-your-own-picnic-lunch at Urban Park from 11:00-2:00, which worked quite well.
