Advice from My Previous Students Algebra1

It is really fast. Really!

Don't PANIC!

The most helpful thing is to ask questions!

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Use HAT and Lunch help sessions if you don't want to ask during class.

Do your homework. If you do, easy A.

Do your homework. It helps a lot on quizzes and tests.

Make sure to check PowerSchool a lot and go to her help sessions and HAT.

Just remember that her quizzes are about 15 minutes long, so you must hurry but also do everything right.

Algebra with Mrs. Shiina is fun.

Don't worry even if you mess up and fail a test or a quiz. Never Give Up!

Don't give up.

Chapter11 is the hardest!

Study especially chapter11 and 9!!

ALWAYS pay attention! Do not talk. If you talk with your friends during the class, then it is your loss because if you don't want to learn, Mrs. Shiina won't make you.

Realize that you are in high school class. PAY ATTENTION!

Do odd numbers on book before quizzes and tests.

Don't worry about homework. If you don't know the answer, just try your best. Mrs. Shiina does not grade homework. You all go over the answers in class.

Don’t afraid to ask for help. It will keep you from falling further behind.

Don’t cram!

Study a lot even if you think you know it quite well.

Don't slack off on studying for quizzes or tests because you think you know it, you probably don't know it.

Take lots of notes. Get notebooks!

Pay attention.

Don't be afraid to do a hard problem on the board.

Expect at least one quiz a week.

Practice solving fast.

Always save your quizzes and tests so you can review.

Do odd problems in textbook and check answers.

Go over notes.

Go to help sessions.

On the quiz/test, do the higher point questions first.

The lessons may seem easy, but they are the base of what you learn.

Before the test, go into the book to the review chapter section and do a couple problems. It helped me so much on the tests!

Mrs. Shiina is a pretty tough teacher, but if you listen and take notes, then you’ll know what is going on.

Watch out for Chapter 9!

Watch out for Chapter 11, too!!

Don't lose sleep for homework.

Check the board and listen!

Go over all the quizzes to study for the tests.

You don’t have to do super well on all quizzes, but review them before the tests.

Study with the textbook.

Remember to study for the tests and quizzes, and you will be fine!

Don’t stress too much. : )

Work hard and study a lot.

Study a little bit each night.

Mrs. Shiina is very picky! Don’t forget “units”!!

It goes really fast, so if one chapter or a lesson does not make sense, you need to study it before the class moves on.

When you are doing homework problems on the board, don’t be afraid to do a hard one because when you mess up, Mrs. Shiina explains and corrects it, and you will learn.

Don’t give Mrs. Shiina a hard time. (Please!)
