The PEEC is hosting its annual kindergarten exploration activities which includes hunting shapes in nature, discovering habitats in our community, and searching for patterns in the wilderness. We will ride the Atomic City Bus to PEEC on October 18th. We do not need permission slips as I will create one from the form you completed at the beginning of the year. Please let us know if you do not want your child to participate so we can make arrangements. Our schedule will be:
Bus trip 9:00am-9:50am
Walk to PEEC/Potty: 9:50-10:05am
Activities: 10:05am-11:35am
Potty/Lunch/Play Outside 11:35-12:10ish
Walk to bus 12:10-12:26pm
Bus to walk to school 12:26-1:10ish
Please send a disposable packed lunch to school on this day as we will be eating outside at the PEEC. Please dress your child for the weather, apply sunscreen at home, and please have your child wear comfortable shoes. Please email me if you would like to volunteer for this trip.
We are excited to announce that we have reached our fundraising goal to go to the zoo on October 22nd. We plan to leave the school at 8:00am and return around 5pm. If you are not able to bring your child to school early, or collect your child late please let us know so we can make arrangements with another teacher for your child to stay with on this day. I will use forms created at the beginning of the year for permission slips.
We need 1 adult chaperone for every 5 children. After counting the teachers we will need 16 parent volunteers. Please let your teacher know if you are able to help. To expedite entry into the zoo if one parent volunteered to arrive before us to pay and collect the entry bands; we will have more time exploring. Please email Mrs. Schembri at h.schembri@laschools.net if you are interested.
Since we have 3 buses, parents will be able to ride the bus with us, or drive to the zoo and meet us. Policy states that students must ride the bus to our location, but parents may sign his/her child out for the ride home.
On October 22nd, all students will need a small packed disposal lunch to eat at the zoo. Nothing will be returning, and there is no eating on the bus. If your child has free hot lunch please email your teacher by October 3rd for us to order lunches from Chartwell. Please dress your child for the weather, apply sunscreen at home, and have him/her wear comfortable shoes for walking.
We all can not thank you enough for your support. Everyone is very excited.
