Students will learn to analyze historical questions using strategies such as sourcing, corroboration, close reading, and contextualization. Using these reading strategies will help students to critically analyze multiple historical perspectives and use evidence to back up a claim.
Student can check their grades weekly to see missing or incomplete assignments. Students can email me with questions and to make a plan!
Digital copies of student materials and assignments can be found on Google Classroom. This is an excellent place to start to complete missing assignments and to to find extra copies.
Student and teacher relationships are collaborative. We are a team that works together to build critical historical skills and knowledge. My goal is not to have students simply memorize facts. This class will focus on analysis of historical events and the development of analytical skills. In order for this to be effective, students needs to actively participate in every lesson. I focus on effort and growth and not perfection!
Students are expected to follow all district, school, team, and classroom policies/procedures/compacts. Please reference the LAMS website for the Parent and Family Handbook which outlines school/district policies.
Please refer to the syllabus for grading and classroom expectations. Students will be given multiple opportunities for mastery and are encouraged to reach out for extra help if needed!
