Meet Mrs. Dean

Hello, Aspen Tigers! I am so excited to be your new school Librarian beginning in the Fall of 2026. I am originally from North Carolina (Go Heels!) and my family moved from Virginia to New Mexico in 2023. We love the outdoors, music, sports, and BOOKS!

I have a background in music education and research and served as a university professor for twelve years prior to our family's move to Los Alamos. I am looking forward to seeing the love of reading ignite and endure for your student. This year, we will all learn more about ourselves, others, and the world through reading and analysis.

Reading is paramount to student success. We will have a terrific year exploring stories and books and learning about media and information literacy. The Aspen Library is a welcoming and inclusive space and I hope to meet you soon!
