Dear All,

World Book Day was a great success all across the school. Children enjoyed lots of different book-related activities and were excited to come into school dressed up or in pyjamas. Many children (and adults!) chose costumes and there was a lovely display of creativity as everyone entered the hall for an exciting whole school assembly that introduced our World Book Day Booknic. The children are always very enthusiastic about our Booknics and the whoops of delight as each choice was announced confirmed that Lark Rise really were ready to celebrate reading! The Reading Ambassadors took the lead on this and did a fabulous job of holding the children's attention with the books they had selected and rehearsed reading. 

We also enjoyed some live online events and lots of time reading (even under the tables!). The day concluded with many parents joining us for the 'Stop, Drop, Read' sessions and choosing books from the book swap. Thank you for all the donations to the book swap, your generosity was greatly appreciated and the children enjoyed choosing new choices to take home. We really appreciate all the effort that comes from our families in making the day such a success.
