Dear All,
Welcome to our second summer edition of the reading newsletter. As we are now approaching the summer holidays, this newsletter is dedicated to the library and Lark Rise Summer Reading Challenges. Last week you will already have received paper communication about the Lark Rise Summer Reading Challenge. Please ask your child's teacher if their challenge details have not come home with them. From Year 1 - Year 6, there is a key text for you to share and enjoy with your child and a range of related learning tasks. This challenge is in its third year and in previous years has proved very popular with all children getting on board and enjoying the key texts at home. These texts will also be discussed during your child's first week back in school and related work completed so it's a lovely way for your child to connect with their peers and teacher from day one. In addition to this, don't forget to also have a look in the 'book recommendations' tab where you will find a selection of books which may appeal to your child to read over the course of the summer.
