Learning Superheroes - Resilient Roo Summer 2

EYFS

Armaan

Armaan thrives on the familiarity of nursery life, and changes to his routine can leave him feeling unsettled. Throughout the year, staff have supported him in facing new challenges and attempting new activities. Recently, Armaan has thoroughly impressed us with how well he has coped during his transition sessions, and staying for some full days without any upset. It is wonderful to see him smiling more, joining in with growing confidence, and showing such great resilience.  Well done Armaan, we are all so proud of you. 

Holly

Holly, you are such a ray of sunshine, always showing enthusiasm for everything you do. Your resilience shines through daily when you face challenges—you always try your best and want to succeed. We are so proud of how hard you have worked on learning to recognise numbers and count with accuracy. We hope you keep up this positive attitude as you continue your Lark Rise journey! 

Theo

Theo is such a happy, bubbly child who faces any challenge he has with true grit and determination. This half term, Theo had to spend some time in hospital, having an operation. This is something that Theo was extremely brave about, taking it in his stride and surprising the doctors and his family by coming though it, with a smile on his face. We are so proud of how brave you have been and how you have coped with having to stop for a little while! We have missed you and can’t wait to see you back at school, rested and recovered!

Elijah

Wow Elijah - what can we say! Your resilience has astounded us! You joined Owls Class only a few months ago and we have had the pleasure of seeing you settle in so well, learn new rules and routines and flourish in all that you do. We are so proud of all that you have achieved in such a short time. Seeing your confidence grow each day has been a real joy and we know that this will continue as you progress through the school. Well done Elijah!

Milo

Milo has made fantastic progress with focus and concentration this term. In the past, Milo would often rush his learning task in order to get outside to play but he now remains engaged on tasks showing a growth in maturity. It has been wonderful to see Milo taking his time and paying attention to detail, especially when drawing and labeling his pictures of animals where he has taken great pride in his work. Milo, you should be proud of your accomplishments. You have shown impressive patience. Keep this up in all that you do. Well done. 

Hugo

Hugo has shown significant growth in his personal and social development this summer term. Previously, Hugo found it very challenging to share due to his highly competitive nature, and could become very emotional when facing loss or a setback.Hugo would easily get emotional at any fall or problem that arose. Hugo has built up resilience recently and worked hard with emotional regulation and he is now handling challenges, being brave and growing in maturity. Keep bouncing back from setbacks and continue to be brave. Well done, Hugo! We are proud of you! 

KS1

Sriya

Sriya, you have been an absolute superstar this year! Walking into a brand-new school halfway through the term takes a massive amount of courage, and you have completely blown us away with your brave spirit. Even when things felt a bit daunting, you jumped straight in with a huge smile and a fantastic attitude. You've worked your socks off, built some truly wonderful friendships, and achieved so much in such a short space of time. We are all incredibly proud of you, Sriya—congratulations! 

Evelyn

Evelyn, you have given us so many reasons to smile this year! Right from the very beginning of the year, you rolled up your sleeves and worked incredibly hard to smash your goals and fly off the RWI program. That amazing work ethic didn't stop there, either; you've continued to give 100% in English, and it has completely paid off with those excellent scores in your end-of-year reading assessments! We are all so incredibly proud of your fantastic dedication and the wonderful progress you’ve made. Huge congratulations, Evelyn! 

Arthur

True resilience isn’t about pretending everything is easy; it is the quiet courage to keep growing, learning and shining, no matter how the world around you changes. Arthur embodies this incredible strength every single day. What makes Arthur so remarkable is how he navigates life's twists and turns. Over the past year, he has worked hard to build strong, meaningful connections with those around him, showing us what real bravery looks like. His absolute superpower is his ability to seek help and talk things through. Arthur knows that asking for guidance isn't a sign of weakness - it is the ultimate sign of wisdom. He reminds us all that we cannot always control the weather, but we can always choose to bring our own sunshine. Thank you, Arthur, for being such a brilliant, unique and inspiring individual, you make our community a brighter place just by being you! 

Hanna

This has been a year of big transitions for you, Hanna, from moving into Key Stage 1 to becoming a proud big sister! You have handled these changes in your life with a grace, politeness and confidence that is truly admirable. You face every new situation with a brilliant smile and a quiet determination. It has been wonderful to watch you bloom, driven by a fierce inner strength that never lets obstacles stop you. Instead, you always choose to challenge yourself, bravely stepping onto the path of most learning so you can grow. Through it all, your impeccable manners and thoughtful nature shine in everything you do. The word resilient truly sums up how courageous, kind and capable you are. Thank you for being such a wonderful example to us all, Hanna! 

Roman

Roman has shown incredible growth throughout Year 2, particularly in building his resilience. He has worked hard to move past moments of frustration by learning to talk through his feelings when a task feels challenging. Instead of being discouraged by errors, Roman is truly beginning to embrace his mistakes as a natural and valuable part of the learning journey. A fantastic reflection of this mindset is how confidently he now uses his green pen to edit and polish his work. By independently identifying where he can improve, Roman is proving that he views challenges not as setbacks, but as opportunities to grow. Keep up the wonderful effort, Roman—your hard work and positive attitude are paying off! 

Poppy

Poppy is the absolute definition of resilience. No matter what challenges come her way, she approaches them with a wonderful "cup is half full" attitude, bringing an infectious optimism and a bright smile to the classroom every day. I have been particularly proud of the hard work Poppy has put in to learning her spellings this year; something that she has worked hard at this year. Alongside her determined mindset, Poppy is incredibly kind-hearted and always tries to help those around her. Whether it’s supporting a classmate who is stuck or simply being a dependable friend, her natural instinct is always to lift others up. Poppy’s positive energy, perseverance, and helpful nature make her a fantastic role model in Year 2. Keep shining bright, Poppy!

LKS2

Lucas

Although Lucas loves making people laugh and being with his friends, he doesn’t like being the centre of attention in a big group of people. This is why I was so proud to see Lucas put himself forward for the L Factor this year. Watching him singing in front of the whole key stage with a friend for his audition was a lovely moment as I knew how much strength and bravery it took for Lucas to get himself there. After he was finished, he had a huge smile on his face and I just know he saw how good it feels to ‘do something that scares you’! 

Maja

Maja is always a hard worker in her lessons but this year she has worked extremely hard in her writing and maths. When she first started in Lower Key Stage Two, the jump in curriculum was something that made Maja nervous to put her hand up and have a go. However, as the year has progressed, and particularly this term, her hand is up more than ever and I can see how proud she is every time she is chosen and gets an answer right. Her writing started the year in a very strong place and her continued determination and quiet focus across the year has really embedded those strong foundations and helped her develop even more sophisticated writing styles in Year 3. Well done on pushing through a big jump in your learning and absolutely flying, Maja! 

Daniela

At the beginning of the year, when things got a little bit tricky (especially in maths) it would have been very easy for Daniela to just quietly sit back and coast by. But, that is NOT what Daniela did. Instead, she did something incredibly brave; she put herself out there. Every single maths lesson, she rolled up her sleeves, tackled the tough numbers and worked her socks off. Because of all of Daniela’s incredible hard work and pure perseverance, she has made excellent progress in her maths learning making this even more special. One of the most amazing parts of Daniela’s maths journey this year has been looking over at her during our lessons. Whenever she puts her hand up to answer a question, she has the biggest, brightest smile on her face ready to show everyone what she knows!

Daniela, you have shown all of us that when you keep trying, there is nothing you can't do. Thank you for inspiring us, never giving up and always bringing that beautiful smile to our classroom. 

Elsie

Whenever things get a little bit tricky or a task feels like a mountain to climb, Elsie doesn't stop. She keeps her head up, stays focused and just keeps going. But what makes Elsie an extra special Resilient Roo is how she handles a challenge. She is an absolute superstar when it comes to listening to feedback. If something doesn't work the first time, she listens carefully, takes on advice and uses it to try again and get even better. Elsie doesn’t just try her best when she feels like it, or only on her favorite subjects. She shows up and gives one hundred percent, each and every day. That kind of steady, unstoppable effort is a massive superpower. Elsie we are all so proud of how hard you have worked and the wonderful attitude you bring to our classroom every single day. Keep it up! 

Theo P

Since September, Theo has shown outstanding growth and resilience, consistently putting incredible effort into his English work and always trying his absolute best. It has been an absolute joy to watch him flourish and grow over the school year, especially as he takes on the exciting new challenge of joining his handwriting. Beyond his own fantastic academic progress, he is a wonderfully kind classmate who is always quick to offer a helping hand to others. He is a truly deserving Resilient Roo who brings so much positive energy to our classroom! 

Maddison

Maddison has undergone a truly heartwarming transformation, growing from a shy, quiet girl into a confident learner who is always putting her hand up and readily volunteering to get involved in every lesson. She knows our daily routines inside out, works incredibly hard, and never shies away from a tough question or fears asking for help. It has been an absolute joy to watch her flourish, particularly in maths, where she shows incredible resilience by never giving up, even when she gets a question wrong. I am so incredibly proud of everything she has achieved this year, keep shining, you absolute superstar! 

UKS2

Amber

Amber - I am so proud of the way in which you have approached your maths learning in the last few months. You recognised that you found elements of maths difficult but, instead of becoming downhearted about this, you were determined to do everything in your power to do your very best. This meant that you asked to move in Maths class to concentrate more, you embraced your 1:1 sessions (even asking for more after SATs had finished) and you took on challenges with great concentration. So, no matter what happens when you receive your results, you can be justifiably proud of everything you have done and you will certainly be a star in my eyes for doing that! 

Luke 

Luke - no matter what you turn your hand to in class, you give it 100%! Not only that, it is usually accompanied by a smile, genuine warmth and interest in the topic and a desire to produce a good piece of work. I have really seen you grow over the past year in all areas of your school life and I love that you show that same determination whether it be when completing a piece of writing, reasoning through a particularly difficult maths question or delving deep into a piece of art that interests you. Don’t ever lose that natural enthusiasm and zest for learning - your optimism and presence will certainly be missed in Eagles Class next year! 

Felicity

Felicity, it was an absolute pleasure to be able to experience the Year 6 residential trip to Caldecotte with you and see the huge amounts of resilience that you had as you approached some of the activities.  I loved the fact that you gave every activity a try, not letting your nerves get in your way. When it came to caving, you were nervous but wanted to give it a try.  You soon overcame your nerves and came out of the caves with a huge smile on your face and were so proud of your achievements, as was I.  Well done Felicity, I think you are an absolute star!

Indiana

What a great year you have had!  I have loved watching you grow in confidence and becoming more resilient to have a try at tricky tasks.  A huge highlight of this year for me has been to see you being brave enough to stand up in front of the whole school to sing and dance with your group of friends … just amazing! I am so, so proud of you Indiana and know that you are going to go on to have another fantastic year as you move into Year 6.  

Cohen

It is not easy starting school, but ever since you walked through the doors at Lark Rise, you have created so much excitement around the key stage! Your kind and friendly nature means people want to be around you, and I’ve loved seeing you play fun games of tag at playtime with your new friends—whose numbers seem to grow every day. You have handled every tricky situation with resilience and growth. Not sure what’s happening in a book? You diligently re-read the chapters. Not sure how to complete your maths work? You’ve been so independent in asking for help. All of this, plus you helped to save a family of soggy peppers that you have managed to grow into new plants! You are wonderful, Cohen!

Oliver P

Oliver, you have absolutely flown so far this year! What makes that even more impressive is that you were already working at such an exceptionally high level to begin with, yet you still found a way to push yourself even further. Your resilience is magnificent. You always want to do your absolute best and be the best you can be, but what I love most is that you do everything with a massive smile on your face. I have absolutely loved being your teacher and feel so lucky to have got to know you this year. Your Michael Jackson performance was just the icing on the cake—you proved you are intelligent, hardworking, resilient, determined, and a wonderful singer and dancer too! In the words of MJ himself: WOW!
