Due to COVID-19, we have added new cleaning and disinfecting tasks to our custodial staff’s daily routines. The changes to our Standard Operations Procedures means that custodial staff needs to exclusively invest their time in cleaning and disinfecting responsibilities.

The district has invested in acquiring the most modern technology Mist equipment to disinfect all campuses. This new equipment requires qualify personal to use after every cleaning routine through the day and at the end of each day.

Another significant change is on the floor maintenance program. We have added more scrubbing jobs on which the rider scrubber floor machine and hand mops will be utilize. Custodians must disinfect the floor twice a day on hallways, gyms, cafeteria and frequently use rooms using the Neutral Disinfectant solution.

Custodial Services Department has also modified campus custodial schedules to accomplish the cleaning and disinfecting daily tasks. Please see attachments: Standard Operations Procedures COVID Elementary School, Middle Schools and High School schedules.

To conclude, the new Standard Operations Procedures were done to help avoid the spread of COVID-19 in our campuses and to protect our LISD community by clean and disinfecting more frequently. This new norm must be embrace by everyone in order to be effective.
