I remember sitting in my tenth grade World History class and thinking, “one day I am going to inspire students so they can feel exactly how I feel right now.” That feeling I speak of, was a feeling of hope, hope for my future. Growing up in Inglewood, I was exposed to several hardships students go through just to get to school, and once they get to school, students must find inspiration to stay motivated and interested in learning. The purpose of teachers, in my opinion, is to give students equal opportunities to believe in themselves, to achieve all of their hopes and inspirations. I want to become a teacher to help students find their purpose in this world and more importantly, to breakdown the negative walls that have been built around them.

Education in today’s society has never been more paramount or dire. Students’ ability to prosper is directly dependent upon their edification. Without continuing to open one’s mind and allowing oneself to be taught, students become stagnant, ignorant, or frozen in time. Without education students are susceptible to negative influences both from the direct world around them, and from the several stereotypes that are afloat in today’s society. As an educator, I hope to teach my students to make conclusions and inferences based on facts. I strongly believe education is about far more than grades. It’s about understanding right from wrong and having the knowledge students need to be successful in today’s society. Without education, sensory information would simply be lost.

Recuerdo estar sentada en mi clase de Historia Mundial de décimo grado y pensar, "un día voy a inspirar a los estudiantes para que puedan sentir exactamente cómo me siento en este momento". Ese sentimiento del que hablo fue un sentimiento de esperanza, esperanza para mi futuro. Al crecer en Inglewood, estuve expuesto a varias dificultades por las que pasan los estudiantes solo para llegar a la escuela, y una vez que llegan a la escuela, los estudiantes deben encontrar inspiración para mantenerse motivados e interesados ​​en aprender. El propósito de los maestros, en mi opinión, es brindar a los estudiantes las mismas oportunidades para creer en sí mismos, para lograr todas sus esperanzas e inspiraciones. Quiero convertirme en maestro para ayudar a los estudiantes a encontrar su propósito en este mundo y, lo que es más importante, derribar los muros negativos que se han construido a su alrededor.

La educación en la sociedad actual nunca ha sido más primordial o terrible. La capacidad de los estudiantes para prosperar depende directamente de su edificación. Sin continuar abriendo la mente y sin dejarse enseñar, los estudiantes se estancan, ignoran o se congelan en el tiempo. Sin educación, los estudiantes son susceptibles a las influencias negativas tanto del mundo directo que los rodea como de los diversos estereotipos que flotan en la sociedad actual. Como educador, espero enseñar a mis alumnos a sacar conclusiones e inferencias basadas en hechos. Creo firmemente que la educación es mucho más que calificaciones. Se trata de entender el bien del mal y tener el conocimiento que los estudiantes necesitan para tener éxito en la sociedad actual. Sin educación, la información sensorial simplemente se perdería.
