Concepts:
7th Grade Mixed Choir is a semester long class and can be taken up to 2 semesters per year (fall and spring). Students in 7th Grade Mixed Choir can expect to be immersed in a full choir course. Students will be singing everyday and be expected to perform in at least 2 concert settings per semester. Students in 7th grade choir will perform 2-4 pieces per concert. These pieces will fit the Lansing School Districts Standards which states that "students will sing literature representing diverse genres and cultures (which may include folk songs, gospels, spirituals, popular, musical theater, sacred and secular vocal literature). This is a Co-Curricular Performance-Based Course and students are expected to participate in (graded) concerts. Students are also graded daily on rehearsal skills. There is a $15 activities fee that applies per semester for this course (charged to skyward account).

I Can Recognize Articulation Markings: Staccato, Accent, Slurs, Ties
I Can Recognize Tempo Markings: Ritardando, largo, adagio, adante, moderato, allegretto, allegro
