If a student receives less than 70% on any assessment (major test, quiz, paper, or final exam), they must be allowed the opportunity to improve their grade on that assessment. The method in which content mastery is shown, will be decided through collaboration with the student and teacher (i.e. oral test, re-takes, presentation, project, etc.). Prior to taking an assessment for improvement, it is recommended that the student complete an assessment correction assignment, such as the Quiz Test Corrective activity. The credit received for improvement tests, quizzes, or projects will be granted based on student growth and mastery. Improvement on assessments should be completed within 1 week of receiving the graded assessment, unless otherwise pre-arranged with the teacher.

All students will be able to turn in missing assignments, with no penalizing grade. Students will have 5 school days from the original turn-in date to turn in their work. If a student is absent during the 5-day period, this day will not count against their timeline to turn in assignments. These assignments will be graded on mastery, and with no late grade.
