Throughout the 2024 NBPTS cycle, the NM-NBCT Network will offer several retreats for candidates. Please see descriptions of each retreat below, along with registration forms. All LANL Foundation candidates can use their unique coupon codes to register for retreats. Candidates are eligible to sign up for all retreats.

Saturday, November 2nd, 2024
Basics of National Boards (9:00 am - 12:00 pm). Candidates will learn about certificate specific instructions and standards. Learn how to read your standards to provide evidence in your writing, how your standards relate to each component, and how to annotate your standards to help with brainstorming and planning of each component. You will also learn how to deconstruct the writing prompts provided in the instructions. The prework for this virtual retreat will be included in the confirmation email you will receive upon submission of this registration form.
Writing for National Boards (1:00 pm - 4:00pm). At this retreat candidates will learn about the different types of writing needed for National Boards and how to determine which type of writing is needed for each prompt. Candidates will also learn how to include evidence within writing and create strong instructional goals to more easily progress through writing each component. Saturday, January 25th, 2025
Maintenance of Certification (9:00 am - 12:00 pm). Participants will learn about the MOC process, be able to ask questions, and brainstorm with others. Any prework for this virtual retreat will be included in the confirmation email you will receive upon submission of this registration form.
Analyzing Student Work for Component 2 (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm). At this retreat candidates will learn how to analyze student work for Component 2. The prework for this virtual retreat will be included in the confirmation email you will receive upon submission of this registration form.
Saturday, February 8th, 2025
Analyzing Video Recordings for Component 3 (9:00 am - 12:00 pm). Participants will learn how to analyze video recordings for Component 3. Prework for this session will be provided in the confirmation you get as soon as you submit this registration form.
Using Data and Assessment to Drive Instruction for Component 4 (1:00 am - 4:00 pm). Participants will learn how to collect, organize, and analyze assessment data for Component 4. Prework for this retreat will be detailed in the confirmation email you will receive upon submission of this registration form.
Saturday, February 22nd, 2025
Revising and Editing Writing Based on the Level 4 Rubric (9:00 am - 12:00 pm). This workshop will teach candidates how to use the Level 4 rubric to complete final edits and revisions to their National Board writing. Prework for this session will be detailed in the confirmation email you will receive upon submission of this registration form.
Saturday, March 8th, 2025
Component 1 Class (9:00 am - 4:00 pm) This class will teach candidates everything they need to know to prepare for the Component 1 Assessment. Candidates will leave being able to create their own study guide and the ability to network with others to aid in studying. You can sign up for the Component 1 Class through this registration form.
In addition to retreats, the NM-NBCT Network offers 1:1 Consults and Additional Reads of components. Please see descriptions of each service below, along with registration forms. All LANL Foundation candidates can use their unique coupon codes to register for consults and additional reads.
1:1 Consults
Individual Consults are available starting in August and ending the day before the e-submission deadline in May. An individual consult is a 30 minute virtual appointment with a trained and Network-affiliated Professional Learning Facilitator. During the consult you can ask questions, get clarification, brainstorm, etc. Please contact Sharree White, sharree.white@nmnbctnetwork.com, with questions or concerns. Additional Reads
This service is available only between March and May of a given cycle year. Candidates submit a component to be read once by a trained PLF who will provide feedback on component submitted. You can register for an additional read through this registration form.
