Principal's Message:

This week started with a bang with our visit from Courtney Orange, a Commonwealth Gymnast. The children enjoyed their sponsored circuits with Courtney demonstrating enthusiasm and encouragement for each other. The circuits were followed by a motivational presentation from Courtney where he shared his journey to being a successful gymnast and how he overcame the barriers he faced. A huge thank you needs to go to Mr Humphrey for organising the day.

On Wednesday, we were then visited by Gemma from the Royal Forestry Society. Helped by children in Year 2, she planted 100 trees in our grounds. These will need lots of care and nurturing as they are young saplings so will damage easily. When they are fully grown, they will provide valuable shade, shelter and also habitats for our wildlife.

The week concluded with our community wearing red for Comic Relief/Red Nose Day. It was so wonderful to see so many children supporting such a worthwhile cause.

What a great week it has been!

National Online Safety Guide

Smart devices promise to make our lives easier and, in many cases, they do exactly that however these new technologies present a number of risks too. Whether you are using a digital assistant to record your shopping list or are controlling your lights through a smart system, many such functions can be hacked and hijacked by someone outside of your home.

The below guide will help you to identify some of the ways that you can stay alert and protect yourself and your family. There are also a number of tips on potential risks such as fraud, online grooming and cyberbullying.

A reminder that all of our parent/carer community are invited to create an account with National Online Safety, which provides a wide range of resources such as the guides we include in our newsletters, courses and video resources. If you have not already done so, please create your account by visiting the link below.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.
