Principal's Message:

This week the children have engaged in many different transition activities in order to get to know their new teachers really well. We started off by discussing what transition is and why it is important. The children demonstrated an incredible understanding of the process, and all remained very open-minded as they went into their new classes and thoroughly enjoyed finding out about the learning they will be engaging with. It has also meant that we welcomed our new members of staff who have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the children and look forward to getting to know them even better in the new year.

Mr Andrews is unfortunately moving on to pastures new. He has been a valued member of the team during his short time at LPPA.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Slight will be joining us in the SRP as one of our LSAs there.

End of term arrangements

In celebration of a brilliant year, the staff of LPPA would like to host a school water fight on the last day of term. Children can bring in a water pistol (labelled with their name) or water squirting utensil into school to take part in an epic battle. We recognise that in true British fashion, the weather is looking a little unpredictable with possible rain, but everyone loves a water fight so it certainly won’t be stopping us!

We understand that you are unlikely to want their uniform to get drenched so we ask that all children wear their PE uniform to take part. It is completely optional so no child will be forced to. Sometimes just watching the fun is just as enjoyable as taking part. We will be doing this between 14:30 and 15:00 so that the children won’t be in wet clothes for long as we are finishing at the normal time of 15:10/15:15! It would be perfectly acceptable if they wish to bring in a small towel and a change of clothes if they would feel more comfortable doing so.

Office Reminders:

Lost Property

Today, we put outside the main academy office a table full of unnamed lost property items and it was great to see some personal belongings reunited with their owners at last. We will continue to do this until the last day of term on Friday 21st July, after which any items remaining in school will be donated to charity or discarded.

Medications (Year 6 leavers)

Please can all medication for our Year 6 leavers be collected from the academy office by the end of term as we are not allowed to dispose of these.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs McRobb, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.

National Online Safety Guide

With the school summer holidays only a week away, many parents and carers will already be planning outings and activites to keep their young ones entertained. In between those special moments, however, there are also likely to be occasions when children happily invest a whole afternoon in Among Us or spend most of their Monday playing Minecraft.

As young people's screen time almost inevitably increases over the holidays, parents and carers like to feel confident that their child(ren) will stay safe while they are exploring the digital world. The below guide offers some simple solutions to help children avoid frequent online pitfalls and enjoy a more positive experience when they go online this summer.
