While it's been a chilly week with a noticeable drop in temperature, there has certainly been no drop in the wonderful learning taking place.
Thank you for all your generous donations today, for the Christmas Fair on 12th December.
I am also pleased to share that the Book Fair held during Parents’ Evening has raised £195.75 for the academy to spend on new books. A big thank you to Mr Fenton for organising this; it is always a great success.
I would like to let you know that Mr Ashenhurst will be leaving the academy at the end of this term. He will be moving to the Local Authority as a SEND Inclusion Advisor. We wish him all the very best for the future and thank him for everything he has done for our academy.
We are delighted that his replacement will be someone already very familiar to many of you and to our SRP in particular. Some of you may remember Mr Gentle, who left us to complete a Primary Education degree at university. He is now a qualified teacher and will be returning to the academy to continue his career. We look forward to working with him again, and I’m sure many of the children will be excited to see him.
As the weather continues to get colder, please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately on both PE and non-PE days, and that all clothing is clearly labelled.

In the last couple of decades, the volume of online traffic has increased exponentially however, in general, people's awareness of the accompanying risks has not grown along with it. To illustrate the scale of the issue, it is worth considering that a report by the Internet Crime Complaint Centre found that there was a successful cyber-attack every second in the US during 2020!

Criminals continue to find new and devious ways to attempt to hijack our online transactions and harvest our private information. To them, the smart devices that many of us now use as standard at home are simply a convenient back door into our lives... and our networks. Please refer to the below guide for advice on beefing up your household's cyber resilience. The guide also includes handy tips on a number of potential risks such as how to use a password manager, how to backup your data and how to check for breaches.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
