It has been another wonderful week.
It has also been a pleasure to have completed the last few 'Meet the Teacher' afternoons. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who took the time to attend. We hope you found them useful!
We have also held our first parent-run Coffee Morning on Tuesday. A huge thank you to Mrs Opara for volunteering her time for this. This was one of the ideas that has stemmed from our Diversity and Inclusion group and is a great opportunity for our community to come together providing support and a listening ear.
Staying Up-To-Date
Our academy regularly sends out newsletters, updates and important notices that cover a range of topics, including upcoming events, academic progress, policy changes and other vital information. By taking a few moments to read these communications in My Child at School, you can stay informed about what’s happening at the academy and how it may impact your child.
Staying up-to-date with these updates helps you to:
Be Aware of Key Dates and Events: Knowing about events such as parent-teacher meetings, school trips, and special activities allows you to plan and ensure that your child is prepared and fully engaged.
Support Your Child’s Learning: Information about curriculum changes, assessment schedules and learning resources can help you support your child’s education at home effectively.
Understand Academy Policies: Staying informed about changes in academy policies or procedures ensures that you’re aware of any new expectations or guidelines that may affect your child.
Engage with the Academy Community: Being aware of academy news and achievements helps you feel connected to the academy community and fosters a sense of partnership between home and school.
We encourage you to make it a habit to read all communications from the academy. If you ever have questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Your active involvement and awareness play a crucial role in supporting your child’s educational journey.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

A reminder that scooters and bikes should not be ridden whilst on the academy site. Please ensure these are pushed by hand upon either entering or exiting the main gates.

Defined as "ongoing hurtful behaviour towards someone online", cyber-bullying makes its victims feel upset, uncomfortable and/or unsafe. In the digital world, it has numerous forms, such as hurtful comments on a person's posts or profile, deliberately leaving them out of group chats, sharing embarrassing images or videos of someone or spreading gossip/lies about them. Cyber-bullying can severely impact a child's mental health and there are signs that can help trusted adults know what to look for and how to respond to it.
The below guide provides tips such as playing online games with your child, talking about your child's online life and being prepared to listen without showing any judgement or criticism.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mr Perkins, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
