As we step into this exciting new academic year, I am delighted to share the wonderful news that our school community has had an exceptional start. The beginning of the year has been marked by enthusiasm, positivity and a remarkable sense of unity among our pupils, staff, and families.
Our classrooms have come alive with the curiosity and eagerness of our young learners. I am thrilled to see how quickly our pupils have settled into their routines, demonstrating great attitudes towards their learning and each other. Their willingness to embrace new challenges and their eagerness to learn are truly inspiring.
The success we are celebrating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible teachers and staff, as well as the strong support and involvement of our families. Together, we are creating an environment where every child feels valued and motivated to reach their full potential.
As we move forward, we are excited about the many opportunities and experiences that lie ahead. We have a year filled with engaging activities, enriching lessons, and memorable moments planned for our students. We encourage you to stay connected with us and to be an active part of your child’s educational journey.
This year, we welcome two new members of staff; Mrs Perkins (teacher of Cameo Class, Year 4) and Mr Goldsmith (caretaker). I am sure that you will all ensure they feel welcome and integrated into our community.
Mr Goldsmith has worked incredibly hard over the summer to ensure that our site looks impeccable and we can't thank him enough for the effort he has put into this. He is so keen to help ensure that the school reaches it's full potential and is the exceptional environment your children deserve. He really has already been a Langley Legend.
Thank you for your continued support and for being an integral part of our school community. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead, full of growth, discovery, and joy!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Miss S Brading
At the start of the new academic year we would like to remind all parents and carers, and make the new families within our community aware, of the following procedures in place in relation to daily routines and occurrences:
Child Absences
A reminder that there are multiple ways through which you can report your child absent. These are:
Telephone call to the Academy Office , selecting Option 1
Email to the academy office at info@langleypark.latrust.org.uk
Text the designated absence service on 07860 054453
Send a message through the My Child at School app
Please inform the Academy Office of your child's absence by 08:30 on each and every day they are absent from the academy using one of the methods above.
Main Gates
If you need vehicular access to the site during the academy day, please do not allow any vehicle behind to follow you through the gate. We have opened the gate upon checking your identity only and need to do the same for anyone that may be behind you. Please stop your vehicle once inside the gate and allow it close behind you. This is so that we can ensure the continued safeguarding of our pupils and the safety of all who are on site.
This obviously does not apply at the end of the academy day when a large number of parents and carers are driving on to the site at the same time.
If you do not need to bring your vehicle on site, please consider parking up and accessing the academy on foot via the pedestrian gate.
Unnamed Lost Property
Personal belongings that are unnamed and consequently cannot be returned to their rightful owner will be placed in the box outside the Academy Office. You are welcome to retrieve things from here at any time. We accumulate an astonishing amount of lost property each week that is unnamed and this is particular frustrating during current times of financial hardship for many. To avoid this, please ensure that anything your child brings into school is clearly named so that it can be returned to them promptly once found.
You may wish to consider purchasing some name labels from Stikins, who our academy signed up in partnership with in March this year. Stikins provide strong, multipurpose name labels that can be stuck onto any of your child's belonging - clothing, water bottles, lunch boxes, shoes and much more! The labels can be ordered directly from www.stikins.co.uk and you can quote our exclusive site number of 36364 when placing your order to enable the academy to receive commission on any order you place, which can then be used to fund additional resources and equipment for pupils!
Academy Office Hours
The Academy Office is a very busy environment with a constant flow of phone calls, emails and visitors throughout the day. Our office team is always happy to be on hand to help with your enquiries and messages however, in order to protect their wellbeing please be advised that the phone line into the academy is closed each day between 12:30 and 13:00. If your call is urgent then please leave a voice message and staff will return your call after 13:00 otherwise please consider sending an email instead. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Please note that these are confirmed dates but should we need to change any due to unforeseen circumstances, we will communicate this with you with as much notice as possible.
Cultural and technological changes have made the experiences of today's children vastly different to our own childhoods and it can be challenging to engage youngsters in open, honest conversation, especially about more sensitive topics. This, combined with many children's instinct to avoid "rocking the boat", can make it difficult to stay up to date with the goings on in their lives.
It is, however, hugely important that trusted adults still offer an empathetic ear and feel able to encourage young people to open up about their day-to-day activities. The below guide provides ten top tips for promoting open conversations with children, helping to make sure there is someone they know they can turn to in times of need.
A reminder that all of our parent/carer community are invited to create an account with National Online Safety, which provides a wide range of resources such as the guides we include in our newsletters, courses and video resources. If you have not already done so, please create your account by visiting the link below.

You can also download the National Online Safety app on any device or smartphone by searching for it in the App Store/Google Play Store.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
We are also aware that some parents/carers continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, your email will not be responded to and you should resume communication via the correct channels.
