This week has been a wonderful period of transition across our academy.
Year 6 pupils enjoyed their first taste of secondary school life and we are sure they will have plenty to share when they return on Monday. Although we missed them while they were away, we are excited for all the new opportunities that lie ahead for them.
We have also been delighted to welcome our new Reception children for their settling-in sessions. We are proud to offer such a comprehensive transition programme for our youngest learners ahead of the summer break. These sessions play a vital role in helping them to feel confident and ready for their September start.
On Thursday 3rd July we held our whole academy transition day, which was a great success. The day began with a special assembly focused on the theme of transition and what it means. The children showed wonderful reflection and maturity, approaching the day with open minds. We explored the idea that change can feel similar to getting a new pair of shoes - exciting and special, yet sometimes unfamiliar and uncomfortable at first. However, just like new shoes, things soon begin to feel more familiar and comfortable over time.
Thank you for supporting your children through these important changes. Whilst transition can be challenging, it is an essential part of our pupils growing into the best versions of themselves.
Finally, we are incredibly proud to share that both Mr Downard and Miss Gilbey have successfully completed their teacher training with us. Their achievement is so well deserved and we are thrilled for them. They have worked tirelessly and children have flourished under their care.
Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
Miss S Brading

Nintendo's long-awaited Switch 2 has finally arrived, blending fresh hardware with fan-favourite franchises. From Mario to Pikachu, the familiar mascots are back, but so too are evolving online features, in-game purchases and potential exposure to mature content. As ever, it is essential that parents and carers understand the risks to young players.
Among these are GameChat voice communication, camera-based gaming and potential access to mature-rated titles. The below guide outlines what to watch out for and how to keep children safe, engaged and having fun.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
