What a week it has been at Leigh Academy Langley Park! From the hallowed turf of the football pitch to the far reaches of the galaxy, our students have been busy exploring, competing, and making us incredibly proud.
Our school football team has secured a place in the history books! Following a series of nail-biting matches in the recent Cluster Football Tournament, our athletes showed incredible grit, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
For the first time in our school’s history, the team took home the Trophy and gold medals! The final match was a masterclass in persistence, with a last-minute goal sealing our victory. A huge thank you to Mr Humphrey!
Year 5 traded their classrooms for the cosmos this week during our Virtual Reality Space Workshop. Using cutting-edge VR headsets, students 'blasted off' from Earth to explore the International Space Station and walk on the surface of Mars.
The gasps of "Whoa!" and "Look at that!" echoing through the hall were a testament to how immersive the experience was. It’s safe to say we have some budding astronauts in our midst!
Our youngest explorers in Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic day out at Maidstone Museum. The children became "History Detectives" for the day, peering into the lives of people from long ago.
The highlights included:
The Egyptian Gallery: Marveling at the ancient artifacts (and a few mummies!).
Local History: Learning about how our very own Maidstone has changed over the centuries.
The museum staff commented on how inquisitive and well-behaved our students were. It was a wonderful way to spark a lifelong love of history.
Thank you to everyone for your support. On behalf of everyone at Langley Park, we wish you a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend.

AI is here to stay and children will grow up using it in many parts of their lives. By talking openly, exploring together and setting clear boundaries, parents and carers can help children to enjoy the benefits of AI while staying safe and informed.
The NSPCC has put together a useful guide on how to talk to children about AI and how to support them while they discover this growing technology. Here is the link: https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/talking-to-children-about-ai/
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
