This term, Sigma Zeta held two chapter meetings on Discord, which were overseen by the Chapter President, Matt Wakefield.
There were also joint workshops with the Honors Program. The workshops were held on Discord and covered building ePortfolios, presenting at conferences, and practicing for presentations at the UO's Undergraduate Research Symposium and Lane's Student Research Days.
Four PTK members also traveled to Catalyst in Denver this spring: Melony Burnett, Jordan Coen, Isaiah Contreras, and Matt Wakefield. They attended workshops, listened to speakers, networked, met representatives from universities around the country, and celebrated with President Margaret Hamilton, who received the Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award for her support of PTK!
The PTK members chosen for the All Oregon Academic Team -- Melony Burnett, Jordan Coen, Isaiah Contreras, and Autumn Travertini -- were honored at a special luncheon in April at the Sunriver Resort. Although the weather prevented travel to the event, the luncheon went on as planned for people who could attend and our amazing students will receive their medallions at the PTK Induction Ceremony.
The chapter's Induction Ceremony will be held on June 9 from 4:00-4:30 in the Hoagland Commons (northwest corner of the second floor in the Center Building) with refreshments to follow. The event includes a guest speaker, President Hamilton, as well as the presentation of awards, swearing in of new chapter officers, and inducting new chapter members! Friends and families are welcome!
