Not sure how many absences your student has this school year? Log in to PowerSchool, or call your student's school. You can use the school calendar above to track your student's attendance this school year.
Missing just 2 days of school each month, although it may not seem like a lot, adds up. 18 days of missed school equals 10% of learning lost, and this is considered chronic absenteeism. Chronic absenteeism includes excused, unexcused and suspension absences.
Many absences, even in kindergarten, can cause children to fall behind in school.
Missing just a day or two every month can make it harder to learn to read by the third grade.
Students with too many absences struggle to catch up, even with take-home assignments.
By 6th grade, chronic absence is a proven early warning sign for students at risk of dropping out of school.
By 9th grade, good attendance can predict graduation rates even better than 8th-grade test scores.
All families have hopes and dreams for their children. Being in school every day will enable children to do well in school and graduate from high school ready for work or college.

Our district will continue hosting the monthly attendance challenges. Starting in August, on our first day of school, 8/12/25, schools across the district will be participating in friendly attendance competitions with the goal to have the highest attendance rate. Our goal is for our students to attend school on a regular basis, so we can prepare them for the future. Schools have been challenged to reach a 96 % and above attendance rate. The winning school gets District recognition, to showcase a trophy for a month, and a certificate.
Families, we need you! We ask that you join us in creating a school going climate and help your student's school be the winning school.
